Project Report

Ewa Beach ASH members, ASH and the City & County of Honolulu have partnered to refurbish the long neglected Ewa Beach Skate Park. The park has been unused by the public for years, as the recycled asphalt surface has deteriorated and is unsafe to skate.

Thanks to the ASH members in Ewa Beach, we were able to complete the Ewa Beach Skate Park with a total resurfacing of the flat and addition of a flat bar, skate bench Hip and Bank to Ledge.  Ewa Beach ASH members originally gained the attention of Council member Ron Menor by attending countless Neighborhood Board Meetings and voicing their concern about the condition of the park. As a public-private partnership, ASH pledged to work with the City to install two new obstacles and fully repave the park in concrete by June 30, 2017(Completed July 2018).

As a small grassroots non-profit, ASH has committed $37,000 to this project and is currently seeking donations to support the stewardship of public skateboarding facilities throughout Hawaii. By keeping local skate parks safe and usable, ASH supports youth recreation opportunities and the vitality of local communities.
